Happy New Year

After an extensive study of available data I have concluded that having a second child reduces the amount of time a mother spends blogging. Now my daughters and daughter in laws can understand why each consecutive child has fewer and fewer photos taken of them. It is not that they are loved less, but that there is less time. Even though it is totally expected, normal and understood, I still miss pictures of all the grandkids everyother day (OK every other week would even be ok.)

It was very quiet around here over the holidays. Grant admitted it was boring without his siblings at home to play with. He spent Christmas in Atlanta with a friend whose parents were gracious enough to take him in when it was impossible for him to fly anywhere near home. I am so glad he wasn't in an airport somewhere. He arrived home the day after Christmas which was great. In an attempt to curb boredom, Grant organized a New years Eve party at the house. It was fun to have company over--if not for Grant we probably would have sat around for awhile and then went to bed early! We are SO exciting!!

Bob had a testosterone attack after Christmas while walking thru Best Buy and bought one of the huge TV's that hang on the wall. it is such a guy thing, but I am sure that I will enjoy it once it is all installed. He is in the family room as i write doing some wiring and than working on a cabinet his is building that will house all of the junk Oops! I mean electronic components. I am glad he is smart enough to understand all of that stuff. I am hoping that I will be able to work the remote!

We went to Calgary between Thanksgiving and Christmas to visit Brett, Cora and the kids and to be there for Abigails blessing. It was friged and snowy while we were there but we had so much fun playing with them all. Flee and Lizzy were up at the same time which was nice also.

Christmas tradition continued when Dave, Sandy and Lou came for dinner. Iva, who we have known since we had the donut shop, also came because the roads were too bad for her to drive to Chicago to visit her kids. I baked two pumpkin pies, which are one of my favorites, but Lou also brought an apple pie, also one of my favorites. We ate the apple pie so I had two pumpkin pies just waiting for me to eat. So with just a little bit of help from Grant, I managed to make sure there was no waste there. Now after two weeks of gluttony I have no waist either. SO-o-o. This is the first time that I have ever made a new years resolution to loose some weight. Bob and I are both going to loose some with the payoff of a trip somewhere when I have spring break- no kids- probably not to your house... we maybe to see Lauren and Carolyn since we haven't been there yet but more than likely somewhere warmer.
Happy New Year!
