It's a wonderful life -if i don't gripe about the small things

A new baby girl in the family and her name is Abigail Marie! She weighed in at 8lb.15oz., was born Friday night (Sept. 19), came home Saturday afternoon and then spent Sat. night in the hospital after choking on some mucus and momentarily turning a peculiar shade of blue. Thank goodness for parents who acted quickly and all is well. The latest report is that she is perfect and perfectly healthy! When Cora gets a minute she will fill all of you in on her blog- ok just a try at humor at Cora's expense. On a more serious note- what can be more wonderful than a sweet baby. I am lucky indeed to be so blessed with great children (that includes ALL of those sons and daughter-in-law) who have given Bob and me so many perfect grandchildren. Thanks

I am getting real tired of the single life here in Michigan while Bob is working so hard in Dallas. I really do have the easy part but I find myself boring- something i thought one should never be. Someone??? packed most of the books away so the house would show better. I had better make a trips to the library if I have to endure the winter in isolation.

Did you all read Flees feelings and observations of fall. You can't help but feel happy and uplifted- something that is to be cherished these days when I get so upset(read angry) with all that is going on in the nation. Thanks Flee for helping me remember those things that make life so enjoyable.

For those of you who have had the priviledge of living on the farm during the fall- the pears will soon be ripe.! The time is at hand when one can royally pig out on deliciousness with out having to prepare or cook anything!! I wish all of you could come enjoy the feast.

flee cheats

Whew! I made it through the first week of school! And it was only 4 days! Really it wasn't bad at all, in fact I haven't even started with students yet. I will be taking students to the Village Press this year and am excited about it as it will be a great site with lots of varied tasks we can do. Thanks to hurricane Gustav we finally got some rain yesterday and today and it suddenly seems like fall. Bob is in Dallas working very hard in ground school for a new airplane. After last weekend when he was number 115 on the standby list,(whoever has even heard of such a thing!) getting home at 2:30AM Saturday, and having to leave after 30 hours later, Bob has decided to stay in Dallas this weekend and study. Can you blame him!? He is the smartest, hardest working man I know. I got somewhat domestic this week and sewed some curtains for the master bathroom. I still have some work left to do one the second pair before I am done.
As you can tell from Flee's blog she really can't keep a secret! i just wanted to see how long it took for you to check for an update after not doing one for a year! She just had to mention it so now the scientific study I had going on is ruined!
Anyone placing a bet or making a guess on Cora and Brett's baby? Is it a girl or a boy? Will it come before Monday or not? No. I'm not getting excited about another little family member! i think it will be another little girl- maybe a redhead!

I'll give it a try!

Wow! I even guessed the correct password even though i didn't set up this site! Today was my first day back in school. It is never as bad as I think it will be after enjoying the summer. Actually i am rather glad that summer is over because it was so busy with 2 trips to Utah- one driving with Flee and then flying out for Carolyn's and lauren's wedding. The drive out was interesting and very slow to say the least and the wedding week was so fun with everyone being there. Babysitting for Walker during the last week of summer was another highlight. We had a great time chasing each other up and down the hall and around things screaming our heads off! It was so nice to get to know and love him more- we had a GREAT time. Of course the trip the two of us took down to Springhill to visit with Harrison and Truman ( and Dan and Jen) broke up the week and was so fun. Thanks guys for having us! just to see if any of you family members ever check our blog anymore- post a comment so I can see how long it takes for you to see this update. Now that I know it is not so hard I will do it more often. maybe I will even learn to post pictures! Jamie- I will need your help with that one!
