Road to Hana and hike.

The last full day on Maui, we drove the road to Hana. We had lunch outside at a road side food stand and the food was excellent.

Then we went to a waterfall about five miles north of town. It was spectacular to say the least. We hiked a trail up the mountain for two miles. Passing rapids, waterfalls, bamboo forest and finally wading through the stream to get to a huge cliff face where you could walk up to and under a 400 ft. waterfall. The trail was somewhat demanding to hike and took an hour to get to the end. There was lots of steep areas with boulders and tree roots to step on and around, not to mention the mud is some places. But it was worth every step. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Wow! That river/waterfall was so cool! Was it on a bed of lava? Or whatever you call dried up, cooled down lava...
